1919 wheat penny, I like to collect the 1976 bi-centenial quarters myself, but I try to look at my pennies too.

The oldest US coin I have is an 1801 large cent and I also have several bust half dollars from the early 1800's. But the oldest coin would have to be one of the roman coins I have.

I believe I have a 1909 Lincoln head penny. Don't remember for certain because it is packed away somewhere.

I found it as a child and took it to the coin dealer at the local flea market. He told me that it was from the first year that Lincoln head pennies were minted.
I put it into a little coin case made of plastic and cardboard and labeled it.

As a kid collecting pennies was the best for me. I loved sorting them and rolling them into packs by year and mint. Since then I have moved on to other hobbies but hopefully I'll be able to share my Lincoln head penny with my son.
