Funny...I'm from Northern Cali (SF to be exact) and now live in Fort Drum, NY. I've been to San Jose and the flea market was cool and so was the Great Mall. Other than that, it is pretty boring so you're right. In fact, I think Northern Cali is boring. I prefer Southern California.
If you ask me, at least San Jose is alot better than living in this dump.

Bend, Oregon. In the heart of the state. The city rolls up it's sidewalks around 6 pm. No night clubs. No mall. Nothing for teenagers to do except go to the movies. 10 miles in any direction gets you in the middle of nowhere. It's a city with a great view of the mountains that relies soley on tourism. What a snore! The upside I spose is that Bend does have a Starbucks on every corner so you can obliterate your boredom with a caffine buzz...
I believe that Lafayette, Calif runs a very close second. Same as above only with more snobs.

boring is all a state of mind, what is boring and lame to one person might be the best place to some one else. I can have a good time no matter were I am, I have lived in big towns, medium towns and little bitty towns in the middle on now were, all of them I can find things to do, and always have a good time.

Boring, Oregon. It is about 25 minutes east of Portland. The name is derived from a family name(Boring). It is on the way to Mt.Hood, which is not boring if you like to ski. There is not much to do in Boring, surprising isn't it? It used to be entirely agricultural, but now it is a bedroom community of Portland. Although, bedroom communities can be exciting at night.

there is plenty, but if you live in a city where you have to drive at least 15 mins to get to a shopping center (not even sure why call it a city) then you are in one of the most boring places on earth
