Because thats what cows were born to do! I also think they Moo because they are talking to other cows In fact they Moo for everything! when they are hungry they Moo When they are tired they Moo When they are bored they Moo When they are sad they Moo When they are pissed off they Moo Its just something cows do!

one day a cow prince had fall in love with a cow princess and her name is moon. one day the princess got a curse from a bad witches for eating her beautiful grass and then she turn into the moon in the sky. from that moment prince cow hired all the cows all around the world to call his princess and that how cows "mooo.." all the time. so, the princess will come back to him....The End.

i grew up on a cattle ranch. my grandpa told me they use it for communication like mother cows finding her calf or one cow telling the other cows of a danger or if my grandpa was in the field to feed them. they really do use it for communication.
