Anime can be very dramatic and many have very sad endings. Even though its just animation it can have an emotional effect. So have you ever seen one that made you cry? If so what was the name of the series or film and describe the scene involved.

There are so many different anime series and movie that can make even the toughest guy cry. Here are just a few of them that I know of:

Fushigi Yuugi- when Tamahome's faimily die, Nurikio, Hotohori, Chiriko, Mitsukake(sp?), Amiboshi, Suboshi, Nakago, Soi, Tomo, all the good people die!!!

FullMetal Alchemist- Huges, and Ed(not really) dies

InuYasha- When Bankotsu and Jakotsu die (there's probably more I can't remember!)

Shaman King- when you think Yoh dies

Naruto- when Zabuza, Haku, the Hokage dies, and when Saskue betrays Konoha

All Gundams- all characters ( you start to become too attached to them all!)

Sailor Moon- When anybody dies!

Chrono Crusade- It's soo sweet and sad when Chrono and Rosette die in eachother's arms( in the anime!)

DNAngel- when Dark and Krad disappear ( I think they died)

X the Movie- When Fuma was killed

Ruroni Kenshin movies and series- When Kenshin dies

Angel Sanctuary- when Sara dies

Ceres the manga/series- when Chidori and Shuro dies, when Toya gets stabbed

Bastard!!!- When you think Dark Schneider dies

Comic Party- it almost made me die of laughter that it brought tears to my eyes

Cowboy Bebop- when Gain dies, when Spike almost dies at the end

and there's many more where that came from... It sad how attached you can become to just cartoon characters. You can somehow relate to almost each and every one of them is some weird unique way. Hope I answered your question... And always watch ANIME!!!!

Okay. I Still Get Teared Up Thinking About It.

Series: Neon Genesis Evangelion

Episode: 22 "He Was Still Aware That He Was A Child"

Tear-Jerking Scene: Kaji (The Coolest Guy Ever!) Is
Shown Being Shot(Sad, But Not Tear
Jerking . . .Yet). And Then His Ex-Girlfriend,
Misato, Comes Home To Find A Message
On Her Answering Machine. It's Kaji. He
Starts Saying Stuff About How He Really
Loved Her And Couldn't Find The Words To
Tell Her Years Ago. Then Misato Breaks
Down Crying, And That Was All My Heart
Could Take.

Reaction: I Cried Like A 4 Year Old Girl

Yes! Fullmetal Alchemist, on a few occasions. The one that practically everyone who has seen the series is about Maes Hughes. (HUGE HUGE SPOILER) After his run-in with Envy disguised as Maria Ross, the funeral part made me cry, a lot. The next one is at the end of the series when Ed is just standing at the Gate and Envy pops in wanting to find Hoenheim, and when Edward gets stabbed by Envy too, which was earlier in the episode.(End) Fullmetal Alchemist was sad at the end, but the movie helped wrap it up.

Oh, I agree with the full Metal alchemist comment. Only episode I've seen and I teared up when I figured out what the dude did to his own daughter (and wife!!)

Thanks Morgan! I'm only about half way through Fushigi Yugi, and now I AM gonna cry!! >:I :(

Escaflowne - when Folken says goodbye to Naria, and Eyria. When Van almost gets killed by his own Mecha (Yikes!) . and a couple other times due to the whole love triangle/octacon/hexagonal thing-a-muh-bober that happens developes in the anime series.

Inuyasha - Kagome overhears InuYasha tell Kikyo he loves her... that one time, no, not that time, the other one, by the tree.. you know, before she tries to kill him... as per usual... :P

Ranma 1/2 (manga)
I was laughing so hard I cried... does that count??

Though I never cry (only almost, but never actually cry), but I feel my chest was tight and heavy but empty inside. I feel like doing nothing and if I sleep, my eyes are wet when I wake up.

One most memorable sad scene (for me) is the one in Shingetsutan Tsukihime where when the boy and the girl finally accept each other, the girl's killed by the final boss (and died, no ressurection). The boy's childhood friend confess to the boy but rejected because the boy still remember the girl. Sad isn't it?

Plague Dogs...
when the fox sends the dogs on their way and leads the hunting dogs away from them...and the end of the film...the last thirty seconds...

Grave of the Fireflies...
So many parts...but the end is just...just...

Cyber City Oedo
The last thirty seconds of episode three...Benten's tale...one of the most beautiful endings in all Anime I have seen. Just can'twatch itmore than once every twoor three years.

Now and Then, Here and There
many places as well but the end where Shu holds Lala Ru as they watch the sunset from the top of the smokestack...pass me the kleenex please...stunning beautiful sad quiet ending ...

Gunslinger Girl
Angelica is losing her memory and her health due to the conditioning that shortens their lives...and she is in the hospital and her handler comes to see her...starts reading her favourite story...the rest of the girls meanwhile are on the top of the hill and start to watch the meteor shower...oh man I can feel my heart moving in my chest...

Saikano
The stuff that happens in this anime is just plain wrong. I have watched a lot of mecha and heros defending their countries, armies, families...but this anime stands out all by itself. Right from the beginning I understand just how devastating the nature of war is...it takes no prisoners...it creates no heroes...there are no winners and it leaves human debris...shuffling, shambling, zombies masquerading as people, their grief pouring out through the hole in their chest where their heart used to be...Saikano is a treatise on war...the real deal...and it is just plain wrong the things that happen in this beautifully crafted anime. Damn right I ended up wiping my face in every one of the last episodes.

Of course the last episode...finalminute of the series...man......
