Well, Lived here, in Fort Worth, for 40 years and yes there are "cowboys" and then there are "look alikes" who have never seen a cowboy but wear the whole cowboy get'up. It just depends on where you go as far as culture and no not all places have jean, plaid shirt cowboy hat people. There is the Gaylord in Grapevine (Northwest of downtown Fort Worth). Orchestra. Plays, Botanical Garden. All sorts of Sports. Omni Theater. The list goes on and on...I recomend the Chamber of Commerce for a complete list. I found that I didn't realize everything there was to see and do until I went into NAVY for 4 years. When I came home on leave, family and I went to several places that I had never been. Still hadnt seen or done all I would like to do.

The heat is brutal. Take a look at the ten day forecast.

Jun 9 99°/75°
Jun 10 99°/74
Jun 11 96°/74°
Jun 12 99°/74°
Jun 13 101°/77
Jun 14 101°/78°
Jun 15 102°/79°
Jun 16 100°/77°
Jun 17 99°/76°
Jun 18 97°/75°

And, it's only June.

Contrary to most people's opinion of the south; it's not all cowboys in wranglers and cowboy hats. I've seen more people with baggy pants here then i saw in the north. However the culture here does revolve around some cowboyish cultures but i fell in love with it and i really really love Texas. I live in Austin though so it might be a little different but not much different.
