Because they pay the bills and do all the work, I don't know. Oh, by the way, seem is spelled "seem," not "seam." A seam is stitching that holds your clothes together. I'm one of those parents who's a "know it all" because I've lived a lot longer than kids, read a lot more, finished school, been out there in the dog-eat-dog world for a long, long time.

Have you ever made a contractual deal to buy a house or expensive car? Have you ever dealt with the Telephone Co. about a dispute on a long distance call? Have you ever balanced a check book or written a check? Have you ever cooked a complete days meals for a family for more than one day? Have you ever made a budget for a month? Have you ever had to deal with someone who thinks, I said thinks, they know everything? Have you ever tried to teach someone about the real meaning of life and where it comes from? And of course my last one: Have you ever thought that you know more than anyone else? Well you don't. You learn from your EXPERIENCED parents and other adults who have already lived it.
Oh, I forgot. We make mistakes and that is why we know what we are talking about.

Unfortunately, parents have a few years of knowledge on kids with their life experiences. You just "think" you know something. Parents are there to protect you, and frankly, you probably don't know a "damn thing" about life and dangers. If you were left on your own, what would you do? Be grateful for the parents you have that care enough to keep you out of trouble.

first off did she tell you to use spell check?....lol
No, some adults push this too much. There is a difference between letting a kid know that you know more than they do because of experience and making them feel stupid. But some parents are over protective.

Parents have gone through things you haven't, that's why.
You and your friend will experience a bit of deja vu when you realize that you're saying and doing the same things your mothers once said and did. At that point you will understand the whole "mom knows it all" discussion.
And then I hope you remember this question.

It's the type of person they are. My mother in law and sister in law both have the attitude they know it all and it's driven me nuts for 27 years!! So it may not matter whether you're younger than they are or not.

Parents just seem to know it all or we like to think we do.. But, we do sometimes make our kids feel like they don't know any thing, when we talk to them..It just make us feel better, so don't take it so personally.

Parents have many more years of living experience. You will see that when you get older, too bad you can't learn from someone else's mistakes.

You know when adults say "when your older you will understand". Well it's true. Adults have been through allot more then teens. Teens are stupid, But they will get smarter. I'm 25 and I wish I had listened to my parents more.
