There was a book I read (must have been in the early 80's) that I LOVED! Of course I was an early teenager at this time. I read it one summer & it was about a girl who would swim with the dolphins. It is NOT "Island of the Blue Dolphins." This book made me want to be a marine biologist. Please help! I can't remember the name of it & would LOVE to find it again. If anyone can help me out in the least, it would be much appreciated. I didn't find the answer on Amazon...so I don't know. Probably something out of print now...

I'm thinking it's A Ring of Endless Light by Madeline L'Engle. About a girl named Vicky, she swims with dolphins and has to choose between two guys...Sound like it? It's an awesome book. I read it years ago and there's a Disney movie based on it with Mischa Barton. See links below, will take you to summary and photo of the book and to the movie based upon it. Hope this helps!

OK, I simply seemed it up on Amazon, and it lists the writer as PublishAmerica. PublishAmerica is a rip-off that pretty much bills you to print a duplicate of your guide. Look it up. It's pretty much a self-publishing organization that pretends to not be. It's fairly recognized for conning folks into considering they have got obtained a 'truly' publishing deal while in specific reality, it is only a self-publishing organization like the entire different self-publishing businesses available in the market. They're infamous. Sorry, however self-released books cannot be bought in truly bookstores, don't seem to be reviewed via newspapers/magazines and should not have any legitimate advertising push at the back of them. Your mom demands to chalk this one as much as enjoy and get released via a truly writer - ie, she demands to jot down one other guide after which begin querying retailers and publishers. Real publishers. Not PublishAmerica or some other organization like that. Remember: if a writer asks you to pay any cash in the direction of the price of publishing your guide, they aren't a legit publishing organization and any guide (peculiarly fiction) released via them comfortably won't promote. Will. Not. Sell. And no quantity of self-advertising is more likely to make a change. Your mom demands to do a little critical study and discover out extra approximately how the publishing trade works. Then she'll realize bigger for subsequent time and notice that a probably released guide is promoted and advertised via the writer and expenses you not anything.

I completely agree with Carlito Sway. After I read your question, but before I looked at the other answers, that was the book I was thinking of, but she beat me to it :)

i think Carlito Sway is right. A Ring of Endless Light was written in 1981, so if you read it when it was new, that would probably be it.

I have no idea, but I do have a suggestion!

Try asking CHILDREN'S LIBRARIAN if she/he knows. I am sure it'll help.
I used to work there over the summer!
