NO RHYMING NAMES! Don't even choose names that sound alike (Sandra and Samantha) or names that mean the same thing (Rose and Lily). I'm a twin and names like that are cute when you're two years old, but when you have to listen to people snicker when they learn that you and your twin are Sara and Kara, or Skye and Raine, or Lyla and Lola, well... Just no similar names, okay? Trust me, it's enough that their twins - give them their own unique names because they will be glad that you of all people can see beneath their identical surface and recognize that they are unique individuals.

I want to say CONGRATULATIONS!
Just some suggestions here but why not have you and your husband name one daughter and have another special person, your neices and nephews, godparents, doctor, or even a nurse at the hospital name the other?
You could let everyone offer suggestions and then draw out of a hat for both names.
If you don't have any other children I would suggest taking your first letter initial and your husband's and naming the girls that way. Such as your name is Deedra and his is Mike, you could name them Denna Makayla and McKenzie Dawn. When and If you have other children you can follow this same pattern. However at our house all the girls have the same initials (TMB) if we have boys they will be (MTB).
You could name them Anna and Zoey, or something along this line, that way their names are not even close to one another and they can become their own person as they get older.
If you can't resist the cutesy names how about use them for middle names?

Do not use matching names. I have 6 month old twins and have done a lot of research on this. The twins would be better off becuase they will have some individuality. I have also spoken with several twins and they agree. Good luck with the twins. Be sure to have lots of help lined up for at the least the first 6 moinths. You will need it.

First things first if you are planning on keeping the twins which it looks like I would go out and look for a job right away, you are going to need the money and even if you get finacial support from a family member you don't want to have to owe them thousands of dollars when you can work off a couple. Second talk to your parents they are going to relize when your stomach starts growning that you are pregnant and you never know what they are going to be like but you need to find out. If you are going to put them up for adoption make sure you know what you are doing do some research ... even if your not putting them up for adoption do some research you are going to need to. Your boyfriend is like any typical guy he can walk away with out any hurt to his reputation but if you really want him with you, you could always try talking to his parents. Telling them how he got you pregnant and how it was both of your faults. Congrats and Good Luck.. oh about the names its probably the last thing you should be worrying about right now but I'm sure it will make you feel better giving them a name and maybe you more of a purpose ... I would just look on line on naming websites like if you want an irish name or an italian name or something you can go to the various websites. Hope I helped and good luck :)

Matching names are always cute. Meaning match the names by the first letters of their names. Like Jack and Jacob. Even if one is a girl and one is a boy match first names. Look online for free you can search baby names and look til you find ones you like. Write up a list of your favorites then once you have like 30 names have someone else in your family look at the list and pick their favorites and so on.

Congratulations!!! I have year old twin girls - it is soo much fun. Right now they are into putting on shoes and wearing necklaces, you are going to love your girls so much!
We named ours Jaya Berlin & Mira Kennedy. We are really into meaning of names. Jaya = Victory, Berlin = Boundary Line, Mira = Light, Kennedy = Helmeted Chief.
Just from reading some other answers - DON'T use rhyming names! Just because they are twins does NOT mean they are the same person! My girls are soo different from one another - give them a chance to be themselves instead of treating them like one baby!
I hope you have a great pregnancy and great birth! If you want advice from someone who has been there, feel free to contact me!

I'm a twin - take my advice and don't go with cutesy-wutesy matchy names. Go with names that are not the same in any way. It might be cute until they are...5 or so, but when they get older they will want to be different people, and have their own identitys. So give them what they want.

Don't do the rhyming/alliteration thing. It's just corny. Focus on trying to find names that both you and your partner can agree on which is hard enough when there's only one to pick! Are there any special names in your family that you'd like to pass down? Baby name books are also helpful.
