in highschool the competition can be hard and a few get cut....but most of the ppl that are afraid of the cut just don't tryout. in middle school it usually depends on how many ppl tryout, they try not to cut the kids from those teams because of self esteme issues and being politically correct.

This depends on the size of the school and the popularity of the sport. In almost all high schools you will have to try out for most of the popular sports.

i went to a small school... we were lucky enough to field a team. but if there were cuts, some would fail. Its like natural selection.

yes they do . and yes many do fail ,but when the child fail at one sport don't let them give up.because that might not be the sport for them.
