I bet that the American accessory might be less difficult (I discovered that one) and it is also now not as seen if you do not get it proper (now not that someone ever loses their accessory totally). In my opinion, any individual seeking to talk 'British' who is not sounds somewhat foolish. I'd definitively move with the American English.
