Have you scanned your BIOS for a virus? You could have one in there that is causing the problem. You did not say what kind of "corruption" you are getting, stack point error? Or what? Could still be an intermittent hard drive that fails over time (heat problem or what ever). After it gets corrupted can you run scan disk? You may have to do that in safe mode.

Do a repair. Take the original Windows installation disk and boot to it. a blue screen comes up asking you what you would like to do? re-install or repair? type "r" for repair. Now, it will either start comparing files or go to a DOS screen, if you get a DOS screen, type "chkdsk /p" There is a space before the /p. After that function is done, type in the word "exit" and then reboot normally. This will repair corrupt Windows XP files WITHOUT harming your data or programs.

yeah, corruption does seem like a memory problem. what operating system are you running? is it a 98? if so, you will probably need to get the Second Edition upgrade. if you already have that, then good luck, because your problem is out of my hands.

Try getting a new HDD. It sounds like you have a bad HDD to me but I'm not positive.
