I live in a mostly military community, and my neighbor is a really cool guy who is deployed right now.
I have never met his wife but I know that she has trouble mowing the lawn when he is gone.
So lately when I mow my lawn I have been mowing theirs too. Even though I never see her or talk to her.

My firends at work tell me it's weird and creepy that I do this. What do you think?
It's not like I have any alterior motives or anything

I think it is a wonderful thing to do to help others. I know some people may think it is wierd, but I think we have moved away from helping one another in this culture, so now it seems wierd. If she doesn't like it, she'll let you know. Your gesture may make her life a little easier, what's wrong with that?

Nah no at all, I personally would love it - I'm with a Royal Marine and when he goes away I realise how much stuff I cant do without him and I am sure simple things like that would make the deployment easier for her and give a sense of community to the place and also give her a sense of well being that there is someone looking out for her, no matter how small the gesture may be. I think it would be a bit strange if you started doing the cleaning the car or washing the windows though!!

Good for you for being a good neighbor-you're displaying a Christian quality-to help where it is needed which is something that people used to do without question-helping thy neighbor etc when values still mattered but since in the present time which seems to be only about I people think it weird when someone genuinely sees a need and helps. Don' t let anyone dissuade you from your good works. When your neighbor does come home-go shake his hand and introduce yourself and don't worry about what your friends???are saying for your being righteous with God.

I think its nice, if she doesn't want you to she will tell you.
I use to do that for an old lady I lived next to, only took me 5 min longer and really helped her out, when I was done she always would bring me out a glass of lemonade lol she was nice

I think that is a very kind and thoughtful think to do. You should be proud of yourself for doing such a selfless act. You will be rewarded for your kindness in the future. Keep up the good work!

It's not weird, you're just doing a good deed. Not much different from delivering groceries for a shut-in.
