because "it never rains in southern california" as the song goes. so when it does, they freak, not knowing the rest of the country is prefectly accepting of the rain.

Because many people from California...myself included...appear to freak out at every little thing. I have noticed that people in Texas don't get reeeeaaaalll excited about muuuuch.

Probably because the people in Texas have sense enough not to build houses on the side of a hill where mudslides can make any home mobile.

Lived in LA most of my life. We don't get enough rain here
and thats why folks make a big deal out of it. Just remember

I love California weather, all of it. A lot of Californians are spoiled to our sunny weather, if it rains over three days, they are phoning the weather man demanding more sunshine.

In cali the folks are busy and when it rains they get all wet.
If it rains in TX then people just stay home and do what they have to do the next day....

because us californians are not used to having gloomy weather, and everyone out here drives like an idiot at the first sign of sprinkles!
