Buy an ick treatment medication. Follow the directions on the bottle. When you add it, raise the water temp to 80 degrees. It helps kill the bacteria.
Good luck!

It is usually caused by some kind of stress the fish has been under or can be introduced by a new fish or changes in the water chemistry. There are all kinds of Ick meds at the pet store that you just add to the tank for a few days. I prefer Ick Clear by Tank Buddies. I got it at Petco and it cured the Ick in 2 days. AND you don't need to raise the water temperature. Most of these quick cures are inexpensive too.

Ick is a parasite. It looks like "white dots (looks like he was sprinkled with salt) all over his body and head, even eyes. He may be less active, may have stopped eating, fins may be clumped. he may also be darting and scratching against rocks, plants and whatever else he can find. Because ick is contagious, it is preferable to treat the whole tank when one fish is found to have it. Ick is temperature sensitive: Leave your betta (pirhana, in your case) in the community tank and raise temperature to 85 F."
Symptoms should be similar in other fish. The website below recommends using high temperature, salt, and a dechlorinator to cure it. There are also several medications for it, such as Jungle Lab Ick Guard and Aquarium Products Cure-Ick. Do not use these meds on scaleless fish, ie: tetras, etc.

When a fishes scales are pulled off , or there is an opening in the scales or the protective barrier of slime that coats a fish, bacteria gets on the skin and causes an infection .To get rid of it , you can try separating the fish so that they aren't so crowded and buy a bottle of ick -free or another of these medicines .You can buy a bottle of it at any pet shop or from wal-mart.(walmart will be cheaper, about $2.50 for a large bottle.)MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEPARATE THE INFECTED FISH FROM ITS TANK MATES.!!However, make sure to treat both tanks to make sure that all the bacteria is killed and clean the tanks .
