Is the dvd a copywritten video? If so there are safeguards against this. If not, just go to my computer, right click the dvd drive and select explore and then select the items within it you want to copy and move them into a folder on your desktop and voila the data will be copied. If it is copywritten, like a movie or something, you'll need software like DVDxcopy II which can be bought at like Target.

Open windows explorer, click on your DVD drive and right click on what ever file or folder you want to store or If you want everything on the disk, click "edit", "select all" and "file" and "save as" and put it (or them) where ever you want to save them.

That, by the way, is called an up-load. A down load comes from the net to your computer, an up-load comes from your computer's peripheral drives to your hard drive.
