In baseball if its a tie game in the bottom of extra innings and the pitcher comes up to bat but they pinch hit for the pitcher. The pinch hitter hits a walk-off home run. Who is credited with the win? I don't think it could be the pitcher because he left the game when it was tied but then again the pinch hitter wasn't on the mound at any point of the game.

probably the pinch hitter...only because he was the one who made the homerun that broke the tie. its not fair, but thats how the distribution of credit usually goes in the sports world.

The pitcher gets the win. Same thing if a pinch hitter hits a game winner in the bottom 9th. Last pitcher gets the victory.

The pitcher who was pinch-hit for is still the pitcher of record. He is so until the next inning, but in this case, since the game ended, he gets the win.

The pitcher who was pinch-hit for gets the win because he kept the other team from scoring enough runs to win in the top half of the inning.

He's still the pitcher of record because he's the last pitcher to have pitched in the game. Whoever the last pitcher was when the team took the final lead is recorded with the win.

The pitcher for whom the pitch hitter hit will be awarded the win because he was the last pitcher of record.

Hope this helps.

Yep, technically the pitcher who was pinch hit for is accredited the win, but many who just watch for fun would credit it to the actual hitter. Eh, technicalities.
