Since Carnage has been defeated by Spider-Man again and again I would have to say Wolverine. I'm not saying Spider-Man's a push over, He just pulls his punches is all. He is going for the capture only( which is harder to do than the straight kill). It doesn't matter what carnage has done. Spider-Man won't kill.

With Wolverine its all about life or death. And if Carnage has killed an innocent in front of Wolverine. Its a very bloody fight with someone that's trying to kill him. Something Carnage has never faced before. I believe Carnage derives a lot of his strength from the fact that heroes aren't trying to kill him. One look into Wolverine's eyes and he would experience fear for the first time. Once Wolverine starts to win. The Symbiote might abandon Kasady. In the past its been noted that Kasady has been separated and re-attached to the symbiote multiple times. The Carnage symbiote, attracted to stronger hosts, has attempted to bond with The Silver Surfer, and the Ben Reilly version of Spider-Man. There is a possibility that it would seek to bond with Wolverine. This wouldn't work as Wolverine has fought off possession before and won. Two examples would be the Brood attempt, Apocalypse turning him into death of the horsemen. so in the end its Wolverine.

Carnage. Carnage has the definitely strength advantage, being stronger than Spider-Man or Venom, who are both stronger than Wolverine. Carnage also is more agile & swifter. The symbiote allows Carnage to adhere to surfaces & fire off tendrils to swing in a fashion similar to Spider-Man, as well as form simple melee weapons like claws, blades, axes, clubs, & more. Unlike Wolverine, Carnage can use his blades as thrown weapons. The symbiote is also only weak to fire & sonics, neither of which is in Wolverine's repertoire. The symbiote is merged with the bloodstream of Cletus Casady, allowing him its regeneration abilities, which are akin to those of Wolverine. Finally, Cletus Casady is quite possibly the most sadistic mind ever to emerge from the Marvel Universe. Just read the "Maximum Carnage" storyline, & you'll see what I mean. This guy is so sick, twisted, & demented, he might even make Wolverine cringe. Wolverine, for the most part, kills out of necessity. Carnage kills for the sheer joy of murder. In the end, Carnage has all the advantages.

Wolverine, but by only after getting fillated alive. is claws would be of little use against Carnage, but he would find a way, since Carnage also could do little to stop Wolverine.

If you are talking about Carnage aka Cacius Cassidy or whatever his name is then Wolverine would win cause all he has to do is get the symbiot out of Cassidy then kill him. But that would mean the symbiot would find some one else to take over and we have another challange. If, when you say Carnage you mean the symbiote then I don't think any one would kill any one. Wolverine is believed to live a long time (because of his healling power) and the symbiot would keep finding people to take over.

Wolverine vs. Carnage -- winner Wolverine.
-
Recently the Sentry flew Carnage outside the Earth's atmosphere and ripped him apart. So unless that symbiote has found a new host-body. Wolverine wins by default. :)

Wolverine!

Carnage is only a symbiote. Can be captured and restrained. Very hard to do so, but is possible. Wolverine on the other hand, is well, wolverine. Very resilient, strong and above all, can heal himself time and time again.
