First I'd recommend trying a plumber's snake. You may have a clog in the pipes below the toilet. Second, I'd recommend checking how the flap opens in the toilet tank. If it doesn't open high enough, you won't get the water flow needed to properly flush your toilet. To fix that, you simply move the connection to the flap to a higher point on the chain. If all else fails, buy a new toilet. I don't recommend replacing both at the same time. Replace one first, then see if that fixes it.

There is one last thing it could be. If you live out in the country and have a septic system, either your septic could be getting full or your water table may be too high around your house and you need to have your septic finger system worked on.

Start with the simple cheap solutions first and work up to the more expensive ones. There's no use buying a new toilet if you don't have to, plus you run the risk of the toilet leaking if you install a new toilet and don't install it totally correct. American Standard makes about the best toilet. I have the cheap $100 toilets in my house and they flush perfectly fine. I think they are Mansfields, not sure offhand.

Many of the toilets that have been sold are just plain bad design. I had a friend who had one of these, and you know the ones: these are the ones you can get from a home improvement center for $100 for the tank and bowl, sometimes called "builders specials". They are cheap but they don't work. Anyway, we ripped out this bad one my friend had, the one where the water just went around and around and around and around and around and finally just slowed to a stop. We put in an American Standard Champion and the difference was like night and day. Not only that, but when I asked how it was working one year later and if it had ever clogged the answer was "We threw out the plunger". One of these cost about $200 for the tank and bowl, but they work. You can be cheap and pay $100 for a cheap toilet, but that is money wasted.

Rip out the toilet you've got and put in a good one. The ones you've got now are cheap ones and just no good, and that's why they do what they do. Odds are the ones you've got were made in Mexico, which explains a lot.

NO THE WAX RING HAS no longer something TO DO WITH speedy OR sluggish FLUSH. IF THE DRAIN is obvious AND the bathroom is obvious possibly THE VENT isn't. in case you may get entry to the exterior PLUMBING on the ROOF you will desire to attempt working A WATER HOSE by IT without WATER FIRST THEN turn THE WATER directly to assist FLUSH regardless of could be blocking off THE VENT AWAY. THE VENT is meant to allow AIR TO circulate at the back of THE WATER to allow IT TO loose circulate DOWN THE PIPES without SUCTION. IT additionally we could THE METHANE GASSES VENT by the ROOF AND away out of your PLUMBING! IF THE VENT is obvious then you definitely would HAVE AN previous wiped out bathroom that needs to be UPGRADED TO a clean ONE. P.S. PLEASE do no longer purchase A "LOW circulate" bathroom AS THEY in no way artwork top! they are going to be sluggish vegetation TOO. solid success!
