What is the most ridiculous, yet quite plausible argument of the post hoc ergo propter hoc type you ever heard?

An "irresponsible" man can't pay his bills.
Next month he is homeless.

A "thief" robs someone.
Next day he is a prisoner.

A high school student fails the exit exam.
Next month he works at McDonald's.

A young person smokes marijuana.
Next week she has 5 STDs and is addicted to heroin.

Planes crash into two skyscrapers.
A guy on a tape says he orchestrated it.

A person joins the Army reserve.
Next year she is dead.




ANY "cause and effect" scenario is HIDING a hell of alot.



The sun sets.
It is dark in my room.

ahhh the "after this, therefore because of this"

heres one thats pretty out there

Ice cream sales elevate greatly each June
Car thefts elevate each July.
Therefore: higher ice cream consumption causes more cars to be stolen.

The 'because I'm _____' argument.
Just fill in the blank with a pronoun (at least I think it's a pronoun; ex. black, white, Mexican, a woman, a man, poor, etc...), and it is used to explain why something happens to people. it can also be referred to as the "profiling" argument.
