How do we go about removing the backing & glue left from the carpet from the kitchen floor? We have been scrapping it but it isn't coming up very good. I was wondering if there is a better way to get it up?
Thank You!

home depot rents a machine that takes it up, its only available in those home depots that rent tools and machines. it costs around 45 dollars to rent. i rented it and it took me only about 10 minutes to do a very large floor in my kitchen.

Go to Home Depot and buy a can of Jasco Adhesive and Sealant Remover. Runs about $38/gallon. Paint it on and wait 15-20 minutes. Scrape off with putty knife. MAKE SURE YOU WEAR GOOD QUALITY RUBBER GLOVES, KNEE PADS AND HAVE PROPER VENTILATION. THIS STUFF GETS PAINFUL ON YOU SKIN BUT WORKS LIKE A CHAMP! Just dont put the scrap in a plastic garbage bag until completely dry (will melt bag)

Old iron. The glue will become very, very hot so wear work gloves. Goo gone or Goof Off will get an glue residue. Use venilation to avoid inhaling toxic fumes.

Go to your local hardware store and they should have some adhesive remover. Go to the flooring section of like Lowe's and ask what they recommend. There are also floor scraping chisels that you can use.
