If you only need to read the files and not change them, get the Powerpoint viewer from Microsoft. Go to http://office.microsoft.com and look around; it's a free download.
If you need to update, change, edit the PowerPoint files you will need Microsoft Office which you can buy from any reputable software dealer. It is NOT free.

This is because you do not have any powerpoint viewing software. To download a free, authentic viewer from Microsoft go to: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
Or, if you want to edit slides and effects purchase Microsoft Powerpoint for a couple of hundred bucks.
