I saw a reference to it and figured out from the reference that it refers to a drug but I don't know which one.

I just heard this on the radio this morning. It's heroin laced with fentanyl (which is a synthetic pain killer). It supposedly gives you a better high than just the heroin....it's also more likely to kill you.

Go here to listen to the radio spot...

It is a mix of fentanyl and heroin, also sometimes a mix
of fentanyl and cocaine.

Fentanyl is an opoid 80X more powerful than morphine.

Odorless, colorless, tasteless -- easy to blend with
heroin and cocaine.

It ("Drop Dead") has been called the "new heroin".

It has a deadly lethal dose in minute quantities, so
heroin (or cocaine) users who unknowingly or even
knowingly but uncaringly use the mix are likely to OD.

This recent trend is likely to continue and we will all hear
more about it as more people die.

Sad, but true.

BTW, fentanyl is a schedule II drug, used medically in pain management, mostly in terminal cancer patients.

You can find more info by doing searches on "fentanyl"
and fentanyl + heroin, etc.

Do you mean 'dead drop'??

A dead drop is a location used to secretly pass items between two people, without requiring them to meet.

Spies have been known to use dead drops, using various techniques to hide the items and to signal that the drop has been made. Drug dealers use this as well.
