My sisters and I are planning a road trip for this summer, and are considering Route 66 as a potential route. I know it sounds cliche, but we also want to visit little towns and stuff. Any suggestions on where to stop? Or places to visit, or sites to see?

Thank you all for answering, it is greatly appreciated. ☻

It goes through Albuquerque, New Mexico at one point. make sure you make it to the top of the Sandia peak. Very pretty and you will be able to eat lunch and take a short hike while on top too. You can drive or take the tram up. If you want to take the tram then off of rt 66 travel north on Tram Way. Follow about 5 miles until you see signs for the tram on your right.
If you drive up you will need to travel off of rout 66 to hwy 14 (north) (turquoise trail). Its just east of Albuquerque.
