Humans are actually animals. They are part of the chordata/vertebrates phyla. They are in the group of mammals, which also includes rabbits, dogs, cats, etc. "Do not behave like an animal" is only a saying.

Yes. Humans are animals. We eat, sleep, breathe, sh*t, etc., just like every other animal does. Early on during our evolution, we were given a trait (intelligence) and we exploited it, as any other animal in our situation would have (ie we use our brains instead of--well, okay, alongside of--our physical bodies to defeat enemies). We just developed our intelligence a little more than some other animals have. To say that we are not animals is, to me, an entirely vain and egotistic sentiment. In fact, I heard somewhere that laughing and crying are both leftover remnants of our ape-like past. Animals feel emotions, just the same as we do, and to a certain extent, they even have culture (wolves, for instance, have a hierarchy amongst themselves, and a fairly complex communication system using body language).
Putting all this into perspective, we're just apes who can talk.

Normally, humans are not called animals. But we are the no. 1 smartest animal species on planet earth. It's homo sapiens. And I am curious whether in 100000 years later that there might be animal species smarter than humans

Of course we're animals because we aren't plants. If it's alive it has to be plant or animal. We are mammals of the genus Primate and species of Homo Sapiens. Jules, Australia.

Differencees between humans and other animals tend to be quantitative rather than qualitative. In other words, we're just brainy baboons.

Biologically, humans sure are animals. After all, we are not plans or minerals, so that only leaves us with one option.
