Me and my boyfriend have been going out for 6 months. He turned 23 today. I told him I was going to buy him a gift. The other day he told me that he basically wasnt going to do anything for his birthday but chill. Well i called him today he never picked up & I also text him and he never wrote back. I spent $50 on his birthday gift and think that i might take it back because he act like he dont won't it.

So, how long has it been exactly since he hasn't called or text you back? Maybe you should see if he's all right. If he is, leave the gift and then leave him.

Well, he is probably worried about turning 23, facing the fact that he is growing up. No more childhood. Turning into a man. Scares a lot of guys. So they would rather sit around being upset, not celebrating one day closer to man hood.

I would keep the gift for another day, like Christmas. Or possibly another boyfriend.

A man that doesn't appreciate you isn't worth your time, energy or money. I'd take the gift back and buy myself something nice. While I was shopping for a gift for myself, I'd be shopping for a new boyfriend.

You need to find out where this relationship is heading.
If you think its not serious let him know and say goodbye.
If its a good relationship that needs help "communicate and take action" What the rules, expectations and so forthl If I were you I could/would might feel upset, angry, unappreciated and hurt.
But I'm a sensitve guy who wants to be valued, respected, trusted and loved by my lady. Her opinion of me and our relationship is important and I want her to be happy.

Sounds like he does not want it. Take it to him. If he still refuses it, try to find out why. Maybe he does not like birthdays. Some people are like that. It is the thought that counts and he should at least accept it. That is the polite thing to do.

It's kind've selfish of him. Tell him to wake up and that you'll buy a cheesecake with strawberries and put a sparkler on top.

sounds like he changed your name to anything, and he isn't doing you on his birthday, he is doing something, you haven't met something yet.
