Florida is the best. A lot to choose from here.

FLORIDA beats California's *** so hard, it's not even funny. I've vacation been to both places and multiple cities in each about every other year since I was 18. Florida has nicer water, nicer sand, nicer beaches all around. It's theme parks are incredible, and it has 27 of the U.S.'s fresh water springs that you can kayak, snorkle, and cave dive in. The clubs in Miami are sometimes open 24 hrs a night, and the Keys have the most amazing sunsets. The only thing Cali has to offer is elevation and forests up north(very pretty I admit).

Michigan's "west coast" has them both beat for a summer vacation. Check link.

Quote: Imagine a weeklong vacation spent lounging on a sandy beach in Florida, touring a Napa Valley (California) winery, visiting an art gallery in New York, exploring a historic Cape Cod lighthouse and golfing surfside on Hilton Head Island.

Sounds great -- except for the expense, the complicated travel logistics and the exhaustion.

Now imagine a leisurely vacation on the west coast of Michigan, where similar destinations are close enough to each other to be enjoyed in a lot less time, for a lot less money.

"Whether you're looking for a day or a week of relaxing in and enjoying beach-front communities, Lake Michigan's shoreline is really where you need to go," says Kirsten Borgstrom, a spokeswoman for Travel Michigan, the state's travel and tourism agency.

Lake Michigan -- the only one of the five Great Lakes entirely within the U.S. -- is so large, up to 118 miles wide, that it resembles an inland, freshwater sea, with crashing waves and high and low tides. And when locals refer to Michigan's west coast, they generally mean the eastern shore of the bottom half of the lake, running about 150 miles from the Indiana border north to the Ludington area.

The glorious summertime sunsets along the lakeshore recall dusk along Florida's Gulf Coast -- except, of course, for the greater likelihood of seeing the aurora borealis, or northern lights, after nightfall.

OK... here it goes,
I've been to both places 3 times, lets compare.
From where I live the tri-state area the Fl. flight is shorter. Disney-world in Fl is better than Disneyland in Ca.
I've been in Calif in July & saw snow!!! We were camping up in the Siera mts. We Also saw a scorpian crawling into the tent!!!
My point is if you go up the Ca. coast, you can hit a lot of different seasons because San Fran is cooler temp wise than LA.
OK............. CA has San Deigo, LA, Hollywood, Bev. Hills, San Fran. A LOT to See!
Fl is flat & hot....., I guess their beaches are better if you want to go on V-cation & sit in sand. I'm sure you'll enjoy either place! They are both nice .. it depends on what you are looking for.

California has so much variety; deserts, mountains, islands, beaches, forests, skiing, wine areas, lakes ... I am not even talking about the cities ... Weatherwise and insect-wise, California is much better.

Florida will be cheaper. No mountains, but lots of nice beaches, and warm water where you can enjoy swimming, snorking or diving.
