It's a sad fact that racism exists, but it does. I guess it still exists because people perpetuate it.
After all it's not the "United people college fund" I believe it's called the "united ***** college fund". And in Pontiac, MI there is a place for Afro American police officers, not just police officers. And even though Different races believe in the same god they still choose to have churches that seem to be of a particular race.
Racism is really just a way for insecure people to belittle others in an attempt to make them feel better about themselves.
We can all complain about the issues of the past, and talk about how awful slavery was, and all of the awful things that were done to the native Americans. But if we eliminated any one of those things the outcome could have been very different. Without slavery, The Black man would not have been here to fight in the wars where they made a difference. A lot of Black people made and still make huge differences in the world, and if they had not been brought here under those horrible conditions the USA would not be what it is today.
I personally do not see Black people , chinese people, Indians, Japanese, ETC....., I see a lot of people that could do a whole lot better with their lives if they were all color blind.
We are all Unique beings, we need to learn to be proud of the things that make us unique, and stop focusing on the awful things that happened in the past and concentrate on the things we can do in the future to make the world a wonderful place for all people.
If you can trace your roots back to someone that was affected by the awful things that happened, you should be thankful for their sacrafices that they made so that you can be where you are today, Because the truth is, if they had not been there, you probably would not be here.

Black People, Stop crying and read the History books, No matter what color you call yourself this week, The N word hurts both sides, try going back an only a few years again when Elder Rosa Parks was called the N word for just sitting on the bus, Sisters and Brothers stop crying, make it better for the babies. No body to blame but your self if you dont't get the free education your first 12 years, because after that, it hits the pocket. There was an time you better not even read in public. Check yourself and the History of the United States and the world.

I agree with you. I have answered so many questions, and it is pitiful to see how ignorant some people are black and white. I do not use the n word. I think that it is disturbing for some people to get so upset because they want to use the word. I am educated too, and I know a lot of black people that are. I cannot help but see color but it is something that I am working on each and everyday. It just seems as soon as we started to level the playing field, that everyone wanted to become the victim and everyone else wanted someone to blame. I do not blame the white man and I know few that do. It is sad.

I answered a question a day or 2 ago on this same subject. As not to make this lengthy I'll try to make it short.
It's total ignorance on both sides. Until we all (blacks, whites, reds, yellows, etc,,,etc,,,etc,, start talking to and helping one another insteady of all this name calling and fighting there will always be racial problems. In earlier years we all lived in our separate areas or what I liked to call inner villages. I as a minority in a black dominated area got along very well with my neighbors but only had problems with kids at school. That gave me a bad attitude until I entered the military where we worked and slept side by side, but in off duty hours we again separated into our own groups. This still goes on today because people don't like the same things as others do and until someone can come up with a better idea of the methods to use to get people together talking with each other and working things out it will never change. We have to learn to live in harmony with each other and stop blaming the other. We did it in my neighborhood back in the 40' and 50' and I still can't see why it can't be done the same today. Just going to take all the people to do it. Welcome to my club young lady as you've already welcomed me to yours.

Just ignore people. There are always going to be ignorant people in the world, but live the best you can and make the world better. I think most of the people on here are trying to be funny even though it isn't funny. I get angry when I see things bashing all Americans or all Southerns (I'm from the South). The Internet is great, but it is a way for people to hide behind a screen and not say these things in person. Racism is bad, but I have to believe it is getting better.

I noticed you said you are new on Yahoo! I point that out because you have noticed the negative (and there are a lot!) posts/questions. Everyone is not like that. You will get irritated on here by the racist, the immature and the ignorant but don't let it get to you! There are lots of nice people on here too. Keep looking and you will find them. When you see the hateful posts that bother you ignore them and continue looking for those that truly need help or are helping.

Racisim is the worst question anybody can think about asking. If i am going to be racist its is aganist everyone.I have been well educated by many races. I grew up around of black people i have grown up around of white people the reason people get called what they do is the way the present them selves. I also find it hard to understand why white people cant say "******" have you ever looked up the term for that word, Any body can be one white mexican chinese japs so on. And no the confederate flag does not mean that you hate black people many blacks fought for that flag also so that is on ething i am tired of hearing it really make me mad when black people say thats what it is racist people take things the wrong way and if you present you self in that way i can understand people hating on each other. All or maybe half of my friends are black and yes white people are ignorant and blakc are too. I see what you are talking about evey day where i work and i try and explain to every one how and why everbody act in many ways towards each other.

As a black female, I can definitely relate. But you pretty much just hit the nail on the head when you said some people are ignorant and think all black people are like this and like that. A person's race does not unequivocably define them in one word...it's like your eye color. Are all women with green eyes stuck up? No, of course not. Granted there are social and economic factors that tend to be associated with a race because of past and current issues and so forth but even still a person is more than that. I too love everybody. I like befriending all types of people and getting their perspectives on life. And yes, I am very tired of black people blaming everything on the white man. I mean, honestly, if we ever plan to get ahead we have to get up and decide that we are more than just victims of society. I can talk about this forever but I guess I'll stop here. Short answer: There will always be people who prejudge you and spite you because of the color of your skin...but I choose not to dwell on that because my skin doesn't define me ...neither does their discrimination.

I hear you loud and clear. Also as an educated Black Woman, these questions and more over the answers really get to me. I keep hoping that some are just done to get reactions, but I'm afraid alot of them aren't.
Still in writing questions and answers it's hard to speak out that we need to have level of responsibility for lives and actions, and maintain balance with our society and history. We are just 50 years away from the civil rights movement.
Bottom line more people, Black, White, Brown, Red, Yellow, Chartreuse, we all need to be educated on each-others experience, and open to trying to understand. We all need to stop being so ignorant.

Racism is going to stop sister--it must be in the genes. That you could let go of hate is healty for you. I personally dont know that I hate any race. There are good and honourable persons in every country on earth. But in general I can see why black people hate the white man in particular they just had enough s---t. As for calling ourselves "******" whats the problem?. It is certainly a matter of intention --there is no ill-will there!. In short I am glad that we can hate--for perhaps when slavery comes around again--as it will-- we wont be its first victims. Take care.

Well, Chidi, I didn't see a question in here, but that's okay with me at least. I'm not black, and I have no idea as to how it is to be another race but white. I don't know you, but I'm proud of you anyway because of the way you expressed yourself so eloquently and for the beliefs that you have. I'm tired of hearing about racism, too. I'm not sure if it's an excuse or a ploy to make other people angry or what. I think we'd all be better if we lived by the Golden Rule--"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Best wishes to you.
