As the others have said, let it come naturally. My daughter was 20 months when she started walking, and I myself was 2 1/2 years. Some people just do it later than others.

Yes. Wait until she is ready. My daughter (youngest of 5) didn't take her first step until she was 17 1/2 months old. She wanted to work on talking instead!! And my oldest also walked late for a different reason--he was (and still is!) a perfectionist. He walked late--but not a first step, all the way across the room! He also talked late--but in full sentences. *Average* age for the first step is 9-17 months; she is still well within that range. Don't worry about it as long as she is happy and developing (in *any* area).
I hope this helps.

For most children it just comes naturally but for others they need to be taught how to. My son is now 8 months and he jus took his first step! I was so excited! Now you don't have to push your child to walk, they will do it when they are ready regardless but here are some tips on what we did to help him learn.
Everytime we walked around the house to do something insignificant ie change baby diaper or get baby food, we would have him walk there instead of us carrying him. we had him hold our fingers and at first had him standing on our feet and then had him moving his legs on his own.
Next we would set him on the couch and sit at the other end and tell him tocome to us. He would start to use the couch to make his way down to us.
Try to find a baby walker ie the hungry hippo one (you can see it on my 360 page in my photo album) this will give her the support she needs while she hones her skills.
My son seems so much happier now that he is more mobile. Sometimes it is good for them. Hope this helps!

Our older daughter didn't walk until 14 or 15 months. I remember fussing about it, and complaining to other moms about how I wanted her to get up and walk. Yikes! Once she did, there was no stopping her! I know now to just let it come in its own time, and treasure every moment that they're NOT walking!

My son was almost 2 years old before he was walking. There is no medical reason for it. He just wasn't interested. So one night about one month before his 2nd b-day his grandmother and I decided to make walking seem like such an exciting thing to do. So we did the Conga and chanted bump bump bump bump bump... BUMP! He took off that night behind us and we did the conga for over an hour!
As long as she's got the basics down with holding on to your hands and walking, it wont be long. Just be silly and make it fun.

My son didn't walk till just before 15 months. I would try to rush her she'll get there in the end!! Maybe you could get her some sort of push along toy that she can hold onto and walk. Other than that i would just suggest being patient she'll be walking before you know it!

This worked with me and my cousin before we were 1. It was a trick our parents did to us. Put a clothes pin in each hand.. just let her hold them and walk a few steps in front of her.. sit down and tell her to come over to you..she concentrates on the clothes pins so much and your voice telling her to come to you that she just starts walking. I know it sounds odd, but it worked for us. Of course this won't work unless she is standing and starting to show interest in walking a little bit.

Relax. In 2 or 3 months she'll be getting into everything and you'll wish she'd stayed crawlin! She is crawling, scooting, right?

you cannot help a baby walk i asked my doctor the same question and he told me i can't force it or help it the baby will walk on his or her own ... just think of it like this... if we started walking on a tight rope it would take us a while to get all the way across with out falling and we wouldn't want any distractions...
that's kind of the same case with babies... it takes time for them to get their balance and get used to it... jsut give them time... sooner or later you'll wish they never started!! good luck!!
