OK so I got a memory stick for 512 mb and it has only 468mb free space!!! iS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE???

Not really. Usually there is a filesystem created on the disk once you put in any device. This helps organize stuff on flash and it keep some bookkeeping information for it. So nothing wrong with it.

Most memory requires a format so that the processor can communicate with the memory device. This format takes up a small amount of space on the memory stick. This difference is not that substantial and is probably normal.

No, don't panic the PSP automatically take MBs when you insert a memory stick into it. It take so much in order to give you updates and save bookmarks for the Web Browser and for neccesary application on the PSP.

It's normal. yer psp needed some memory to format the stick.

i think this is a common problem with anything that holds memory. i have a 4GB iPod that says it can only hold 3.78GB. weird...
