If you get sperm from a sperm bank, do they screen these men very carefully? Do they have to list health or mental problems in their family? What kind of info do they get from these guys?

Yes they do. My husband looked into becoming a sperm donor one time and the application process was worse than trying to buy a house or something lol (he has super sperm - we get pregnant even on birth control lol). Anyways, you have to have medical check ups, provide background info like education, family history etc - its very thorough. WHen a woman decides to use donor sperm she can then say "only sperm from men of such and such race, with a college education, at least this tall, with blue eyes" etc. Ask your dr about it!

Yes, you can get a full report on the donor. Everything from physical features, gentic issues, health issues, education, hobbies...etc. The donors usuallly donate several samples and the lab might even have a record of how many people have purchased their semen.

Good luck to you!
