i am 55 years old, had the murmur all my life. no problems at all. ask your dr. how bad a murmur it is. if it is not bad like mine, do not make a big deal about it. my murmur was never mentioned unless we had a dr. visit. i did sports, had babies, and am in law enforcement. do not limit your son with worry if there is no need. good luck

How serious is the heart murmur? My wife's son from a former marriage was diagnosed with a heart murmur earlier this year, and she was really worried. However, after consulting with a specialist (pediatric cardiologist), it was determined that it wasn't a serious murmur. Most murmurs fall into the "innocent" (or non-dangerous) variety.
I hope your son's is in that variety.
Good luck

What does the doctor say? Most people that young outgrow this condition. Worry only if the doctor is worried.

Follow the doctor's recommendations and read up on the condition --- ask your doctor the necessary questions --- this site doesn't validate the info that's posted ---

You should take your baby to a doctor and ask them your questions. If it is serious then your doctor will probably refer you to a specialist. Good luck!
