I can tell ya a few things! Unfortunately, they are all negative which is why hubby and I are heading north next year...
We have cockroaches here that you can throw a saddle on and RIDE... and they freakin FLY.
In summer it's soooooo hot but humid, so it'll be 95 out and feel like 105. It also tends to feel a lot like you're trying to breathe underwater.
In the winter you're constantly sick because, even though it's generally mild, it'll be 80 one day and 50 the next. Weather can just never seem to decide between hot and cold here!
It's flat as a pancake.
Nothing grows except pine trees, which are nothing but lightening rods... and we are the lightening capital of the world!
Hurricanes...'nuff said.
Oh, and did I mention the cockroaches?? Black Widows, rattlers, Moccasins (the snake, not the shoe lol) and gators, gators everywhere.
Ok I'm done ranting for now lol

very few people lose everything in hurricanes. I have lived here for 15 years and have lost nothing during the hurricanes that i have been through, including the famous 3. Didnt even break a window, or spring a leak. Only ignorance can answer a ? like Panda did.

It's the top state for HURRICANES!!! Why do people still choose to live there when they know they're going to lose everything? Ignorance. Other than that, I hear it's really humid and hot, and rains now n then too, but is nice at the same time. Haven't been there yet, but a friend lived there for 4 months.

Live here, the beach areas are the best to live in. Pinellas County has alot of stuff going on. Sarasota County is cultural. Collier county, Everglades, where I go to visit is great. Need to explore your self. Good luck!!!

Florida is not the number one state for Hurricanes... and people there becuase of the beaches and sunny weather.

I think they get alot of hurricacnes there. Its very tropicle, and verry hot lots of times!!!!!!
