I think Mariah use to have the better voice, especially when she got her big break. She seemed more normal then, too. Now she's way too "hip hop" for my taste. Christina Aguilera probably has the better range and gusto to her voice than Mariah has.

The both have spectacular abilities, but honestly.. you cant compare anyone to mariah carey her voice is SO recognizable and fabulous
