It is in our national interest (because of the geographical size of our country) to either increase the available supply of petroleum or develop alternative fuel sources. The former may only be a temporary solution, but the latter will take time and resources and may invite retaliation in the form of extremely high petroleum prices while we attempt to retool our energy using and producing systems.

right now, the high price of gas is caused by political reasons and no the market. it will better to build stronger ties and have effective policies.

also, the US gov't and all governments must support alternative source of fuel. as we all know, fuel is a non renewable resoure (peak oil crisis). the rate of oil consumption today is unsustainable. austerity measures should also be practiced by all.

Use the oil we have here. We have enough and don't need to be trading with other countries anyway. They can take care of their own and we will do the same.
