Standard Yahoo 10 team head 2 head league.

This was my team before the trade:
QB- Matt Hassalback
WR- Larry Fitzgerald
WR- Torry Holt
WR- Rod Smith
RB- Shaun Alexander
RB- Ruben Droughens
TE- Todd Heap
BN- DeShaun Foster
BN- Trent Green
BN- Jerry Porter
BN- Isaac Bruce

K- Shayne Grahm
BN- Jeff Wilkins

DEF- Seattle
BN- Atlanta

The consensus was that I didn't have enough RB depth. I made the following blockbuster:

I give: Shaun Alexander, Issac Bruce and Seattle.

I get: Willie Parker, Warrick Dunn and Chicago.

I figured that Bruce was never going to play anyhow, and its a big upgrade from Seattle to Chicago. I'm thinking that Parker + Dunn + Chicago is as good as Alexander + Droughens + Seattle.

Did I just mess up my team???

That was not worth it. You didn't get enough for Shaun Alexander. You did mess up your team. Plus Alexander probably had the fantasy points of Parker and Dunn combined.

While you indeed increased your RB depth, I think you came out on the short-end of the stick with this trade. Of course, a couple injuries could also make you looking like a genius by season's end.

However, barring major injuries, this is how it breaks down. Losing Alexander is losing a good 1800yds, 25TDs. In return, you've gained little in the RB area. Dunn will get decent yards, but will continue to lose TDs to T.J. Duckett and occasionally Vick. Parker will gain some TDs with the retiring of Bettis, but may have to compete with a healthy Duce Staley. It's something to keep an eye on.

Your current RBs are decent, but will have to really pick it up in order to keep their backups from stealing the show. Droughens is sitting in front of Lee Suggs and Willie Green - two young RBs who are willing to take the lead when they can. Foster will have to stay healthy, and then ward off a push from 1st-round pick D'Angelo Williams.

In your situation, Issac Bruce was expendable for this trade (whether he was involved in the trade directly, or dropped to keep you from exceeding the roster limit.)

Chicago's defense is still strong, and will benefit from a very easy schedule. Seattle's defense is improved, however they are looking at some teams that have the chance to explode this season.

You may want to see if you can package two of the RBs together for a top RB, and then look to the free agency for either an overlooked starter or a top-quality rookie.

I think you did because chicago will not have the same d as last year, also you only have room for 2 rbs not 3 so even though dunn and parker might put up the same numbers combined you only have room for 2 although alexander might get injured or have a shitty year from being on the cover of madden 07 you messed up but not big time. last year i traded for culpepper and gave away alexander but still was only one game out of the playoffs

You did what? Unbelievable. You gave up the #1 ranked RB for essentially a defense? Man, if you wanted a WR, they come up in waivers all the time. Unless your league gives a ton of points for D, then.....
Not to be harsh, but that was a horrible, horrible deal.
On top of that...Did you happen to notice who Seattle signed this year. They got a new LB (Peterson an All Pro) and a couple of new guys in the D backfield. I'd love to trade with someone like you. Bruce is on the bench! So leave him there.

Very good trade. Issac Bruce is almost done, Chicagos defense outweitghs Shaun Alexander.

Dude, what is the matter with you. You don't give up a running back like Alexander unless you are getting someone equal or better to him. I don't even care about the other players. You can't give up Alexander for Parker/Dunn. Are you crazy?
LOL masterofpupp...thats a good one

dam....you didn't just mess it up...you destroyed your team lol. i really hope, for your sake, that trades take a few days to go through and that the other managers see this trade and veto it. if i were you, go post a message in your league saying you accepted it by accident and to beg them to veto it. =] they probably will since the other guy will probably have an unbelieveable team if they let the trade through.

you do lack in RB depth, but i thought you were fine because you have a STUD in shaun alexander. you can probably expect around 2tds average per game from him. i'd take your RBs over the other guy starting parker and dunn...just so you know.

but hey ...at least your trying to learn. i hate managers that reject every trade offer and avoid them like the plague. trading makes things interesting. if the trade goes through, just learn from this mistake. =]

You could of had Peyton Manning for QB because he still has Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne. Your Full Back could be Richardson. You might of had Alge Crumpler TE of Atlanta. He has Michael Vick throwing to him. ONe thing you have to know is what other players could help them, for instance, for a great WR, you might pick the WR that has a great QB. Vise Versa

your mistake was giving up SHAWN ALEXANDER.. rb's are important in fantasy football.. you'll get the majority of points from them.. depending on how your points system works.. shawn is a monster when it comes to scoring TD's..

good pickup with willie parker and chicago.. but i don't know if it was worth givin' up shawn.. just my opinion

Definitely
Just quit your league now.
Alexander is a top 3 player, you never trade a top 3 player unless it is for 9 top 10 players
