It's true that most gay people aren't religious. It's probably becaue religion is used to put down homosexuality...which is wrong. People misuse their religions all of the time as an excuse to hate.
I'm gay and I am not into any type of organized religion. However, I possess strong faith and belief in what I feel is right.

I am not religious, but it's not religious marriage I'm looking for. The United States cannot do anything to stop me from being religiously married. What I want is for my marriage to be recognized by the United States government. I want the right to a legal marriage. I don't want to be kicked out of a hospital when I'm visiting my significant other, I want to have the same benefits as married heterosexual couples. And though "civil unions" are an option, I think it's stupid. Brown vs. Board of Education ruled that separate can never be equal. Once they separate us so that homosexuals are "unioned" and heterosexuals are married, homosexuals feel that they are wrong and inferior to heterosexuals. As for how many homosexuals are religious, I'd assume it remains about constant with the amount of heterosexuals who are religious. A person who is a true atheist doesn't lack belief in god because they disagree with a god's supposed view. That would just be a theist who doesn't want to believe in a god.
(Sorry about the long post below, but it makes a great point.)

I am a lesbian and am not religous. I however am VERY spiritual. Not at all an atheist, I certainly believe in God. But I think that religon was entirely created by people. It was the initial law of times before there were badges and police etc. It's very useful, in the sense that it keeps society from complete chaos and havoc. religous beliefs influence a persons actions more than laws even do. But because it was created by by epople, it has been changed according to peoples personal opinions, hence the reason there are so many different religons and religous denominations. Again, these are entirely my own personal opinions.
What category do I belong in? Not religous but spiritual. Sorry if I made it even more complicated lol.

What's a top percent? Based on a deficient studying of Kinsey's information, which have been wrong at first-class, the percent of distinguished homosexuals has been predicted to be 10%. Other reviews have proven or not it's towards 15%, so the 15% looks to be approximately typical. The percent of guys who've had a minimum of one gay enjoy is way bigger, and plenty of men and women turns out to suppose that "one swallow doth a summer time make," whether they swallow. It's undoubtedly no longer bigger than the percent of men and women with reliable jobs in Christian church buildings, that's predicted at approximately 30%.. Of path, in Christian church buildings there could also be a bigger percent of pedophiles than within the populace at significant, that's another subject altogether, however don't seem to be they each in contradiction with Biblical teachings? Historically, nevertheless, many homosexual guys were drawn to operating within the church. Go determine.

I don't know if there has ever been a survey to this question, but I would love to see the results of one. I might google around later and update this answer if I find anything.
My girlfriend and I are both devoutly Wiccan. She was raised in it, I converted from Roman Catholic before I met her. There are TONS of gay and lesbian and bisexual people in the Wiccan/Neo-pagan community. I've been to three gay Wiccan handfastings (marriage ceremony) in the last year alone!

I think many gay, lesbian, and bisexual people are religious, and many are Christian, yet they have become jaded due to reasons I can understand. It's good that you are teaching your children tollerance and different people's views. Someday maybe one of them will bring someone back to the church when they see all religious people don't say one thing then act another way.
