Do monthly self-exams of your breasts to check for any small lumps. That is the best early detection, and can help you to treat or remove lumps before they become cancerous or dangerous. If you find a lump, see your doctor right away to determine if it's cancerous or just fluid (that can happen sometimes too). Here's a website to help you learn how to do a self-exam:

Do the breast self-exam after your period. Every month. Examine your breasts in the mirror and learn to recognise your breast. Check that there is no discharge from the nipples and no lumps or bumps. Go to the gynae and tell him to teach you how to do the BSE.
Peace.

You need to consult with a physician about this. I am not sure what age that you will have to start with a baseline mammogram. Check the guideline and follow-up and also do monthly breast exams.

If anything feels abnormal when you do your breast self-examination (which I hope you do), go immediately to the doctor, who will probably refer you for a mamogram.

Sometimes it's only fibroid -- which is not life-threatening.
