3 1/2 to 4 years old. As early as you can. The earlier the better.

When I was in gymnastics, the best competitors started at about 6 or 7.
Anyone can start gymnastics at any age, though.
If you have the drive and will power, you will go far....it is just harder to train your body to be/remain flexible if you are much older than that.
I am NOT trying to discourage you, it can be done....it is just a lot more work if you start at an older age.
Good luck!

Whenever you are mature enough. Any age is good. The younger the better but if you are 4 years old and don't listen to anybody there is no point in it.

young. very young. that's why you see little girls in china that can bend so much and flip numerous plates in the air. it takes years to be a great gymnast. if you start from young, your body can be very flexibe. if you start at a later age, you won't be able to bend as much. that's how i see it.
