Well, Have you two had sex yet? If not don't go and why are you afraid to be alone with him? The problem appears to be deeper than your question...Good Luck either way!!!!

Just think about these questions. What is he doing to you to make afraid to spend the night with him? OR............. Are you afraid to go because you're scared of getting caught doing something that you shouldn't be doing. If your answer to the first question isn't "nothing" and you answer "yeah" to the second, THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE GOING!!!!

spend the night doing what? ask him to be clear with you, doing what? why? what is the purpose of spending this night? think about how costly this is for your life, or maybe you are going to make him pay...then how will he pay for this? etc...do you really want to be involve on this? is this going to be expensive at the end? huh...too much to think about... do you just want to have fun? is this fun too expensive? :-) are you afraid to get dark circles in your eyes?
what about if he turns violent! who will you call at the middle of the night?

If this is real then you have the rest of your relationship to get comfortable with spending the night with him. Give it time and when you want to (without question) then you'll know exactly what to do!

Be honest with him and let him know how you feel. He should understand and respect your wishes, and if he has a problem with it and starts to feed you the whole BS story, then I think it is time to move on to someone who will respect you.

If you are afraid, don't do it! What are you afraid of? If he is abusive, get out of the relationship!

Don't. Don't ever do anything you aren't comfortable with. Tell him no, and if he doesn't like it, that's the perfect time to tell him you don't want to see him anymore.
