2. Click add or remove programs.
3. Find the program you want to delete.
4. Go through the uninstall program.
5. When you are done with it: Click finish.
6. exit the add or remove programs and the control panel.

This sounds like adware. Click tools... then click manage add ons. A list of add ons will be populated. If you see something on the list that you're sure shouldn't be there, disable it . If it is one that should be there, internet explorer might not load right after you disable it. If so, go back and re-able it. Also run a virus scan and see if adware is detected. If this is a regular program, you should be able to remove it by clicking start, control panel, add/remove programs and delete the offending program.

This sounds like a spyware or an adware program that "hides" in the system files. You need to clean your computer. Run an anti-spyware software that will detect and allow you to delete the intruders! If you have Norton, run a complete system scan, too.

It can be tough to get rid of these! Good luck.

HELLO. I AM SO NEW TO THIS, BUT IF THAT WERE MY PROBLEM, THE FIRST PLACE I WOULD LOOK IS FROM MY DESKTOP, TO "SETTINGS" THEN TO "CONTROL PANEL" AND THEN TO CHECK "ADD/REMOVE" TO SEE IF YOU CAN SPOT THAT PROGRAM ON THE LIST OF PROGRAMS WHICH ARE RUNNING IN YOUR COMPUTER. IF THAT TURNS UP A BIG ZERO WITH A LINE THROUGH IT (NULL SET), THEN WHAT I WOULD TRY IS TO GET INTO YOUR "C:" DRIVE. OPEN THAT UP AND GO EXPLORING. CHECK INTO YOUR "PROGRAM FILES" AND "COMMON FILES" AND ALL THE OTHER STUFF IN YOUR C: DRIVE, AND YOU MAY JUST GET LUCKY. AGAIN, IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD NAIL SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS ABOUT THIS STUFF AND HAVE HIM LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER.... OR MAYBE IT REALLY WOULD BE BETTER FOR YOU TO BE LOOKING OVER HIS SHOULDER WHILE HE TRACKS IT DOWN AND STRAIGHTENS IT OUT FOR YOU. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR TROUBLESHOOTING ADVENTURE. I JUST DID A MAJOR THING LIKE THIS WITH MY COMPUTER, AND I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW HOW GREAT YOU'RE GOING TO FEEL WHEN YOU NAIL IT. BEST TO YOU FROM SOUTH PORTLAND, MAINE, U.S.A.

This is likely to be a virus or spyware since it is creating popups. To remove these kind of programs, install CCleaner and Spybot Search and Destroy (both programs are free and can be found at www.pcworld.com/52516). As well, run a virus program, use Trend Micro Housecall (also free and found at www.pcworld.com/52516). This way, you are able to kill off any viruses and spyware.
