A professor of what, who works at which college/university? Full professor, associate professor? There's a tremendous range out there. If you're looking at this as a career option, call the personnel department of your nearest university or college and ask. They won't give you the details on one specific person, but they will certainly give you the salary range.

It depends on the professor's degree. If it's science, they could probably easily make over 50k. If it's something in the humanities, the starting salary seems to be anywhere from 35k to 45k. If the professor works at one of the "elite" universities, he or she will tend to make over 50k.

Those guys are like stand-up comedians where the students are paying the salary and other costs to run the night club.
Don't laugh, it's true. Unless you are a talented person yourself, college is a waste of time.

I've seen published salaries of over $100k.
If a university wants you strongly enough, they'll offer you an attractive salary that's second to none.

World is so big and varied, whereas your question is totally open.
Salary of a professor depend on location (country), college, subject, qualification.
It can vary from $200 (a small town college) to $1 MM (high tech university of US or UK)
