let me tell you from personal experience, hon, that these people exist only b/c they can't seem to get a life apart from their fixation. they are seriously mentally impaired in some way. and no, i'm not just saying that. i had a stalker/harrasser for 8 years. he still texts me and tries to talk to me. my best friend just got raped 3 nights ago by her stalker. he was lurking outside her apartment building. threw her in his car and raped her. i dont' care if i get the 10 points and i'm sorry for rambling...but if you need help or anything contact me asap. email and IM are in my profile. *hugs* God bless you and take care!

That's a pretty complicated question. There are biological factors to consider, their respective childhood influences, peers, and environments, their respective temperaments, and their culture. You can only answer that question on a case by case basis.

These people are sick and become obsessed, sadly it comes from having fee will and false perceptions where they don't respect or are responsible to others and even themselves. The way we are raised has a big influence!

Most have either been molested or have some kind of mental disturbance that causes their action. We tend to take too many chances with these people. Too many are repeat offenders.
