I don't know much about engineering but I know you have two hurdles to overcome. If you don't have a Green Card nor are an American citizen, the most obvious hurdle is getting a work permit. You would need a company that is willing to sponsor you. They have to prove to the INS (immigration and naturalization sevice) that they have a job opening that no one presently allowed to work in the US can qualify for as well as you. That's a big challenge. Even the language won't help you. Arab Americans speak Arabic, get civil engineering degrees, and are on the market. The second hurdle, which I am not too sure of, is whether you need a special license, as is the case for many other professions involving construction. Otherwise, if you overcome those two hurdles, and that's a big otherwise, you're OK. You don't mention which college you graduated from. People have ways of ranking the educational standards of various universities in the world. If it's a good one, nothing wrong with it being Egyptian per se. I have a tip for you. Call up Drexel University in Philadelphia. They have a big shot Egyptian professor in their Engineering Department. Look up Drexel on the web. I'm not saying who because he might not like the fact that I'm giving his name, he's been sick lately. But, at least the school is friendly to Egyptians, and their career office may be helpful. Also, you might want to look into the option of coming here for a masters degree in Engineering. Then you would not have problems with an internship, which often leads to a Green Card.

I would definitely make sure u have a working Visa. But I recommend that you either work for the State or better yet get a Federal Job because the pay is good and the benefits and retirement are the best u can get.

I think that if you can do the job, the company should not have a problem with your degree being overseas. I think they may even be impressed. Isn't it true that Egypt has made great advances and have high standards in engineering? good luck with that Visa and getting here.

Probably. The harder part would probably be getting a work visa.
