Forget it, it simply won't work because a VGA port isn't compatible with DVI-D. I have the same situation and it just won't do it.

The only way you could connect your laptop to your plasma TV is through the RCA (yellow, red, and white connectors) inputs/outputs, and that is if your laptop has video output and you have the right cables. Either way, this option lacks image quality.

Unless your TV has a VGA input, it is not going to be possible.

Man, I'm getting sick of these lame answers.

Without knowing the specifics of the models you have you may need a converter.

Keep in mind that VGA is a an analog signal you just can't convert with a simple adapter an analog VGA signal from a computer to a digital DVI-D signal input on a monitor; for that you'll need a "VGA to DVI Conversion Box"

This should point you in the right direction, but it's not going to be inexpensive. Are there other video output types on your computer or different video input types on your plasma tv?

HDMI is digital and VGA is analogue so those are in comparison to minded. in case you have a DVI, HDMI or Displayport output on your notebook then you particularly can use an consumer-friendly converter with considered one of those. in case you have no longer have been given considered one of those then it could be a good concept to enhance the GPU to one with HDMI if that's an option
