kualalumpur ,budget hotel u can find majid india, off tunku abdul rehman there r many hotel 55 to 80 ringit n is in city center too,near by shopping mall,food court,n easy to get public transports,kl tower,petronas tower,genting hiland,sunway lagoon r the place to visit

Honestly, Jakarta is not the best place to visit, unless you know of a local person who knows where to take you around. The traffic is awful and air quality is perhaps among the worst in the world! Although... 2 thumbs up on Jakarta's clubs scenes and nightlife... but if you're single don't be dissapointed b/c there are not that many good looking local men (but the local women are strikingly beautiful!) Lol! Also, depending on where you go but the drinks at the ritzy / popular night clubs are not cheap! Jakarta is a very modern city and you won't find too many cultural stuff there.
You'll have a much better time in Bali, trust me on this.

there are a lot of budget hotel/motel at Malaysia. You u like very low budget htel you can stay in backpacker motels. You can get those info from web site.

if you wanna stay in jkt under a budget... you could rent a room. you could go find places called "kos-kosan". we have that everywhere in this country. it won't be hard to find. you just pay a monthly of RP. 300,00 which is equivalent to US$30. is that cheap, enough? but if you want to stay at a hotel... the cheapest that i know is a place called "panorama". i should warn you it's not the greatest place to stay but it is fabulously cheap!
where to visit? jkt, honestly, is not the greatest tourist place. bali is because there's the fantastic beach and it is one of the greatest tourist hubs in the world. but in jkt, you could check out the clubs: embassy, centro, mana house, wonder bar, bliss, ooh... there's a lot. you should go to this area of south jkt called "kemang". there's everything in kemang. you name it, they have it.

But beware the tout N conman.Many taxi driver will put high price.So beware N take care.
