Actually I have three adult women I call Mom--my own, my partner's mother and my partner's aunt who was and is still a strong influence in her life and now mine as well. Any person can have "teacher figures" in their life and call them mothers of the heart. My mom is a foster parent and mother to many kids through the years and each one of them was my sibling for the full duration of their stay in our house as well as after. The best phrase I ever heard was someone ask a mother once with many kids...how do you divide your love between all of them? And she replied, you don't divide your love, you multiple it.

That's fine. The only negative implication is that you may have a tendency to be insecure in young adult relationships, but then again you might not if there was a male figure in your life that made you feel loved and valued for who you are by the opposite sex. and even if you were insecure this is something that you could work on yourself and correct.

Please don't interpret this as an antigay statement,it is not, im gay, this is just from the most current research in psychology.

One of the women in my interfaith pagan group raised two daughters with her female partner, and both of them turned out straight and normal.... we one is an artist, so I don't know if she *really* qualifies as normal. ;-) But she is very nice and very talented.

Also a woman I work with is raising a daughter with her lesbian partner, and even though her daughter is only 13, she is pretty sure she is straight. I think it makes her a little nervous, she doesn't know what to tell her about boys and dating, but then again, most straight parents don't know what to tell girls about boys and dating.

My son does. We are totally ok with however is sexual orientation develops. We love who we love, their gender matters not. So even though I don't have two moms, from the perspective of your moms, I'm sure they love you very much and just want you to be happy. The female couple that lives down the street from us have an 8yr old girl. Its not that unusual anymore. Does it bother you?

I'm a lesbian mom, my kids consider my partner their stepmom, I know its not quite the same as your situation, but we've been family nearly 8yrs........
I wonder if you have other friends with gay parents? are you just curious about other kids in your situation or are you looking for support?
maybe you could provided more details....
