I have a colombian passport and I require a Schengen Visa to go into Gremany. However, I do not need a visa to go into switzerland as I have a US green card. Thanks for your help, and I appreciate if you have any further info you can share

What about getting the visa at the border since I am already in Europe (Switzerland)

Hello,

You may not obtain a Schengen visa at the border between Switzerland and Germany. You will have to apply for a visa with the German Consulate, be it in your country of residence or where you currently are.

Well. There are still borders, especially since Switzerland is not part of the Schengen area. (They will become an "Associated member" in 2007 or 2008.) There are special border crossings for EU-members and non-members.

For Germany, the citzens of some states, among them the US, do not need a visa. See the link below for more information.

Bottom line: you probably don't need a visa at all.

You are quite correct, as a Colombian national, you need a visa. Apply for it at the German Embassy in Bogota: http://www.embassiesabroad.com/embassies-in/Colombia.cfm#1250

first of all,there is not borders in Europe as it used to be,
second,Switzerland is not accepting schengen,
and, finally,what is your nationality????
with U.S. or Canadian citizenship,you don't have any problem,
