Absolutely.
The only way to make money in the stock market is if more people get in after you. No demand equals lesser price.

There is no such thing as a favorite stock. It all depends on what a person is comfortable with. Some people are comfortable with oil, which is in energy, some technology and some precious metals. Some one who knows about oil wells, drilling for oil etc. wouldn't be interested much in Apple computers and probable isn't going to discuss how they get all the oil from a well, what's going on in the Middle East etc or even how great the sales of IPADs are to share secrets, if there was any secret.

Chances are, unless it's a tiny and closely held stock, you couldn't tell enough people to influence the price. Even if you could, unless you are their stock "guru" and they buy blindly on your advice, they are going to check it out for themselves and will make the investment based upon what they find out about the company.
There is no reason to keep it secret, and discussing stocks and other investments openly and honestly with friends can give all of you different points of view to consider that you may find helpful in making smarter investments.

Right on the latter, the more people buy that stock the higher the price will go. Best if it is a well perfoming stock, as your friends may get miffed at you.

If you are then buy a good stock and go on TV shows and tell people that you will be richer as you bought this stock...
This is done all the time by Brokers and Pundits...

it depends on how famous you are. If you are an analyst or repute. and you say sthg, ppl and the market will immediately react. However if you are a small investor, hiding or sharing that info will not help you personally much.
