my aunt, i guess she thinks she is higher class and too good for other people. she sticks her nose up and shrugs people off, and talks about them without giving them a chance. now granted alot of the people i chill with have all kinds of tatoos and piercings, but that doesnt make someone bad.

Major brand or off brand. When they fail, they have what we call "Ostrich Syndrome", which means they hide their heads thinking that no one ever saw them fail.
I had several cousins that way. Always trying to make themselves look good just to impress. Right now, I'm the only one in my entire family with a college education and a goal in mind. Them...they're earning minimum wage at a restaurant struggling financially to payoff a car loan, supposedly with 6 cylinders, hydraulics, blah blah blah..all that crap. They see me around, and not even a "hello". What a shame.

I think you should tell your aunt just to back off. I wouldn't worry about what other people think of my friends if I were you. Some people are just so caught up in the way things used to be that they can't get their heads out of their hind ends long enough to see the true personality of others. Good luck to you.

Some people are snobby and judge others because they are insecure about themselves and believe that others constantly are doing the same thing to them. Or they are very shy and act snobby towards others so the others will ignore them and they wont have to confront their fears. Some people really do judge others just because they do think they are better than others or maybe they just misunderstand others like your aunt with your friends. Maybe you should talk to her about it or introduce them to her so she sees that they are not what she thought they were.

If your friends make you happy and treat you well, let your aunt have her opinions and don't worry about it.

sometimes people fear what they don't understand and the best way for them to deal with it is to turn the fear into hostility.
It may be they also see a bit of themself in another and don't like what they see so they again become hostile to the similar.
