My boyfriend and I decided to take a temporary break. He thinks that this will help our relationship. He says that we will miss each other and realize how much we mean to one another. Has anyone gone through this? I want this to work we have a child together. Plus i love the man!

Should I just give up or have some faith that it will work out.

well relationships are funny sometimes give him his space and time but remember to take this time for you not just waiting for him. Love is a game, but what's sometimes hard, when you take a time out in this game, getting back in is never garunteed. and even though you 2 are on a time out life is still happening. good luck girl

NO. In my last relationship we broke up 10 times. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. It was great to get together, but we just couldn't stay that way. We were both overly defensive because of PAST drama. The last time, I just refused to mend it...then of course I fell back in love and he refused to mend it...then came around when I was so gone. I'd also had the same issues with a guy who like you, I had a child. Too much pain. Someone more whole and ready for you exists. You just have to reserve your energy for that GOOD thing and let this one go. When you get over the PAIN, you will have grown and will look back with wisdom and NO regrets. I PROMISE. I have the best marriage thank God.

It has never worked for me or anybody I know. I think he might want to try the grass on the other side of the fence for a while. So he's counting on you to realize how much he means to you, while he's trying out other options. I could be wrong, but that's how it usually goes.

My first husband and I seperated and reunited several times.....in the end though we weren't happy together and got a divorce. Maybe you two should talk about what the issues really are and try to work out your problems together. I hope it works out for you. Best wishes

Yes I have been through that, yes we survived ... and still going for 6 years. Dont worry too much if you love eachother enough, you will get through it.
